Yes, I think it is the disease my dad suffers from. It seems that this disease also infected me. Maybe I am not going to work at 5am, but he certainly inspired me to work hard every day, as he always did: no matter what happens, you have to go back to work and think positively. Dad always was like that and I always wanted to take example of him, because I knew that positive approach works out well in life. It is often when Dad says something that we are all wondering: ‘what are you talking about Daddy, what kind of idea is that?’ But it has always turned out that he was right. It was amazing that all of his ideas that we thought were absurd, were a hit. It stuck in my mind that Dad is al- ways right – says Kasia Ptak. She had lived abroad since junior high school – first in France and later in England. Five years ago, after spend- ing a year at Regent’s College where she studied media and communications, she abandoned her studies in favour of working with her father, because, as she says herself I understood that I am going to learn much more from him and that I cannot neglect the opportunity of hav- ing such a wise and experienced mentor by my side . I did not feel well in college because I wanted to do something more, I want- ed to take things in my own hands and go to work, I did not feel fulfilled, it was not enough for me. I wanted to learn with people who have professional experience and pick it up – she adds. When asked what she had learned from her father, she answered without hesitation: My dad taught me to work hard, but also to have faith in what I do and no to worry too much about negative feedback. Of course also to listen to people – that is very important – and take the best out of it. THE FIRST TWO EDITIONS BEHIND US I believe that the first edition of ‘War- saw Home’ was satisfying. Anyway, I per- sonally did not expect such response. It is clear that this was not yet a contracting event with large number of bulk orders, but some orders – as far as I know – had been made. And the measure of partici- pants’ satisfaction could be the fact that 90% of exhibitors from 2016 also exhib- ited in 2017. Surely the measure of success is also the fact that in 2017 there was not one but three halls. So we tripled exhibi- tion space – 65 thousand m 2 and we ac- tually tripled the number of exhibitors. We also levelled up in terms of exhibitors, because we cooperated with companies that had not participated in any fairs in Poland yet. We had also exhibitors from abroad – from Germany, Scandinavia, France. This is a big step forward – she briefly sums up the first two editions of ‘Warsaw Home’. Kasia Ptak does not hide, however, that her main goal is to bring Polish companies and, as she stresses, she al- ready cooperates or starts to cooperate with many Polish companies. Last year companies such as Vox Meble, Meble Wójcik, Swarzędz Home, Noti, Balma, Profim, Wajnert Meble or Paged ex- MY DAD TAUGHT ME TO WORK HARD, BUT ALSO TO HAVE FAITH IN WHAT IbDO AND NO TO WORRY TOO MUCH ABOUT NEGATIVE FEEDBACK.
