Furniture 1000 – a list of the largest furniture manufacturers in Poland

Furniture 1000 12 T he first place in the 'Furniture 1000 – list of the largest furniture manufacturers in Po- land' (besides furniture producers accord- ing to the Polish Classification of Activities (PKD): 31.01.Z – Manufacture of office and shop furniture, 31.02.Z – Manufacture of kitchen furniture, the list also includes mattress manufacturers – 31.03.Z) be- longs to IKEA Industry Poland sp. z o.o. (with net revenue from the sale of products, goods and mate- rials in the amount of 4.87 billion PLN). The next po- sitions – but with significantly lower revenue – were taken by Correct sp.kom. (1.335 billion PLN), Com.40 sp. z o.o. sp.kom. (1.294 billion PLN), Black Red White SA (1.156 billion PLN) and Fabryki Mebli Forte SA (1.127 billion PLN). These five companies – as the only one in the list – had revenue exceeding one billion zlotys last year. Revenue exceeding 100 million PLN (but less than 1 billion PLN) were generated by 73 companies in the list. Not much less, because 71 companies generated revenue of 50-100 million PLN. Further 145 compa- nies had revenue of 20-50 million PLN, 138 companies – revenue of 10-20 million PLN, and 139 companies – revenue of 5-10 million PLN. The most numerous group, comprising of 429 companies, achieved rev- enue of less than 5 million PLN in 2019. The largest increase in net revenue YOY was re- corded by Willson & Brown sp. z o.o. (an increase by 242.362 million PLN). The following places were taken by: GHG sp. z o.o. (increase by 143.723 million PLN), Black Red White SA (increase by 134.759 million PLN), Adriana SA (increase by 104.765 million PLN) and Sits Industry sp .z o.o. (an increase by 88.437 million PLN). On the other hand, at the opposite extreme, there are: Com40 sp. z o.o. sp.kom. (decrease by 104.915 million PLN), IKEA Industry Poland sp. z o.o. (decrease by 84.123 million PLN), Vallor SA (decrease by 57.893 mil- lion PLN), Andrewex sp. z o.o. (a decrease by 47.293 million PLN) and Tvilum Poland sp. z o.o. (decrease by 46.756 million PLN). In the group of 1,000 companies whose data are published in the ranking, the vast majority (802 com- panies) recorded a net profit in 2019, and 198 – a loss. The largest net profit was generated by Correct sp.kom. (163.993 million PLN). The following places were taken by: Grupa G-3 sp.j. (106.775 million PLN), Com40 sp. z o.o. sp.kom. (91.095 million PLN), IKEA Industry Poland sp. z o.o. (85.103 million PLN) and Fabryka Mebli Wer-Sal sp.j. (56.955 million PLN). The total net revenue of all companies in the list amounted to 41.368 billion PLN, which is an increase of 11.05% compared to 2018, when the revenue of these companies amounted to 37.25 billion PLN. Fixed assets of all 1,000 companies from the list totalled to 10.327 billion PLN, current assets – 12.618 billion PLN, stock – 4.62 billion PLN, cash and cash equivalents – 2.403 billion PLN, total assets – 28.17 billion PLN, equity capital (fund) – 16.023 billion PLN, net profit – 1.753 billion PLN, long-term liabilities – 3.567 billion PLN, and short-term liabilities – 7.406 billion PLN. The industry is in better shape and facing new challenges After 3 years of the basic indicators kept getting worse, 2019 brought a slight improvement in the situation of the furniture industry. However, the coming years will show how sustainable this trend is. The challenge for the near future is undoubtedly operating in the times of uncertainty caused by the pandemic, the effects of which affected global economy in 2020.
